Film Synopsis
Walter “Fritz” Mondale believes politics and public service can build bridges rather than barriers. FRITZ: The Walter Mondale Story explores the former Vice President’s extraordinary life from the 1960’s through today, from Minnesota to the White House and back. Along the way, he transformed the role of the Vice President and led the country’s newfound commitment to provide equality and opportunity to all. Through his teaching at the University of Minnesota, Mr. Mondale probes the issue of American values and accountability of power while inspiring a new generation to seek a life of public service.

FRITZ will premiere at the Minnesota History Center in Saint Paul on Thursday, October 16th 2008, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Additional showings are being planned. To learn more, join the FRITZ email list.
Broadcast Plans
Fritz: The Walter Mondale Story is expected to be broadcast state-wide on Minnesota public television stations. Twin Cities Public Television believes this documentary is important and has agreed to broadcast it in Fall 2008. National broadcast is being explored.
Educational Outreach Program
To further underscore Mr. Mondale’s commitment to inspiring the next generation of public servants, a discussion guide will be developed to accompany the DVD. These materials will be distributed throughout Minnesota to stimulate discussion and motivate students to consider how their actions can impact the world around them.
